Rodanthos means Rosebud,
The new-born rose which for me is the expression of Beauty, isn’t it?
But also,
As from Orson Welles’ in Citizen Cane’ last word,
It also means that: Happiness is to be found in the simple, innocent dreams of your heart and that is all what is needed.
Only, be aware that offered feelings are sincere and genuine,
so, little thorns won’t bleed your heart.
I came to Perdika, as a visitor, too, some years ago,
escaping for a little, from Athens and my school of teaching languages.
I was spelled by the magnificent, huge sunsets and the golden reflections of the sun on the turquoise sea.
I never went back, only once, to say a sweet goodbye to my loved students.
The only field for sale, I found, not in front of the sea but on the top of the middle of the little village. It was full of daisies and a goat was looking at me.
The dream of designing and building Rodanthos started, then.
It is still …going on in every detail ,or, need of heart expression.
Rosebud will make you feel at home.
And, it is a place always to come back to.
